PM Kisan Payment Alert: Check These 5 Details to Make Sure Your ₹2,000 Installment Is Not Stopped

PM Kisan Yojana Update: Farmers waiting for the next ₹2,000 installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) should make sure their records are complete and accurate. Even an eligible farmer can face a delay if eKYC is incomplete, bank information is incorrect, land records do not match, family details are duplicated or the beneficiary falls under an exclusion category.

Under PM-KISAN, eligible landholding farmer families receive ₹6,000 every year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. The amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer system.

The 23rd installment was released on June 20, 2026, when more than ₹18,880 crore was transferred to around 9.44 crore farmers. The beneficiaries included approximately 2.18 crore women farmers.

If you want to avoid problems with your next installment, here are five important checks you should complete.

1. Complete Your PM-KISAN eKYC

eKYC is one of the most important requirements for registered PM-KISAN beneficiaries.

Farmers whose eKYC remains incomplete may face problems in receiving their installment. Therefore, beneficiaries should verify their eKYC status before the next payment is released.

Farmers whose Aadhaar is linked with an active mobile number can generally complete the process using OTP-based authentication. Other options, including biometric authentication and face authentication, are also available through authorised channels.

If your earlier payment was delayed or stopped, checking eKYC should be the first step.

Make sure the name and other details on Aadhaar also correspond with the information available in PM-KISAN records.

2. Verify Your Bank Account and Payment Status

Since PM-KISAN payments are transferred directly to bank accounts, errors in banking information can create problems.

Farmers should ensure that the bank account registered with the scheme is active and that the account details are correct.

Beneficiaries can use the Know Your Status section of the PM-KISAN portal to check important payment information.

The section can show details such as payment status, bank name, payment mode, UTR number and the date on which the installment was credited.

If the system shows that a payment was processed but the money is not visible in the bank account, the beneficiary may need to contact the concerned bank and verify the transaction.

Incorrect or outdated account information should be corrected through official channels as early as possible.

3. Check Whether Your Land Records Are Correct

PM-KISAN is linked with landholding eligibility, making land records an important part of verification.

A mismatch between the details entered in PM-KISAN and the information available in official land records can lead to the payment being held back.

The government has also identified certain cases involving land ownership acquired after February 1, 2019, where additional verification may be required depending on the applicable rules.

If a case is flagged as suspicious or requires physical verification, the installment may be temporarily stopped until authorities complete the verification process.

Farmers should therefore make sure that their name, ownership information and other land-related records are correct.

Any discrepancy should be corrected with the relevant revenue or government authority rather than ignored.

4. Avoid Duplicate Benefits Within the Same Family

The definition of a family under PM-KISAN generally includes husband, wife and minor children.

If more than one person from the same family is receiving the benefit in a manner that does not comply with the scheme's rules, the case can be flagged.

For example, duplicate claims involving both husband and wife or another conflicting family record may require physical verification.

During this process, payment can be stopped temporarily.

Farmers should therefore verify that their family details are accurate and that there are no duplicate or inconsistent beneficiary entries.

Correct family information can help prevent avoidable verification delays.

5. Check Whether You Fall Under an Exclusion Category

Agricultural land ownership alone does not automatically make every person eligible for PM-KISAN.

The scheme has specific exclusion categories. Certain economically well-off individuals and people holding specified constitutional, government or professional positions may not qualify for the benefit.

This means a person may have agricultural land but still be excluded under the scheme's rules.

Farmers whose installment has stopped should therefore review the current eligibility and exclusion criteria rather than assuming that the problem is only related to eKYC or bank details.

PM-KISAN to Continue Until 2031

A major policy update came in July 2026 when the Union Cabinet approved continuation of PM-KISAN from 2026-27 to 2030-31.

For this five-year period, a financial outlay of around ₹3.15 lakh crore has been approved.

The existing benefit structure is set to continue, meaning eligible farmer families will keep receiving ₹6,000 annually in three installments.

This provides greater clarity to beneficiaries that the income-support programme is expected to remain operational over the coming years.

How to Check PM Kisan Status

Farmers can check their beneficiary and payment status through the official PM-KISAN portal.

Go to the Know Your Status section and enter the required registration number.

The portal can display payment-related information and help beneficiaries understand whether an installment has been processed or if any issue is affecting the account.

If you do not know your PM-KISAN registration number, the official portal provides a facility to retrieve it using the required personal details.

Five Checks Before the Next Installment

Bank detailsIncorrect information can affect DBT payment
Land recordsMismatches can lead to verification or payment hold
Family detailsDuplicate beneficiaries can trigger scrutiny
EligibilityExclusion rules can make some applicants ineligible

What If Your ₹2,000 Installment Does Not Arrive?

A missing installment does not always mean that the beneficiary has been permanently removed from PM-KISAN.

In many cases, payments may be held because of incomplete verification, incorrect records or pending corrections.

Farmers should first check their online status and identify the reason for the payment issue. Once the problem is known, the relevant correction or verification can be completed through the authorised government channel.

Avoid approaching unknown agents who claim they can release a stopped PM-KISAN installment in exchange for money.

Also never share OTPs, Aadhaar authentication codes, banking passwords or ATM PINs with anyone claiming to represent the scheme.

Keep Your PM-KISAN Records Updated

The easiest way to reduce the risk of a delayed installment is to keep all records updated before the next payment cycle begins.

Complete eKYC, verify your bank account, ensure that land records match, review family details and check that you continue to meet the scheme's eligibility conditions.

PM-KISAN remains an important source of direct income support for crores of farmer families. A few minutes spent reviewing these details could help prevent the next ₹2,000 installment from getting stuck because of a correctable record or verification issue.
